While there has always been a portion of the games industry that's pushed and pushed for the cutting edge of graphics, using only the prettiest polygons and most verdant vertices in their games, Bioshock director Ken Levine hasn't got much time for graphical realism: "It's expensive and it doesn't age". Frogwares' The Sinking City was rough around the edges, but it shone with a genuine appreciation for its Lovecraftian lore, despite a cosmic horror-style litigation fracas which saw the developer fighting their publisher over control of the game. SiN Episodes: Emergence was supposed to be the first instalment in a series that ran for nine episodes. Instead, it's the opening chapter in a story that has remained unfinished for 20 years.
